Contacting Heywood-Wakefield
PLEASE READ THIS MESSAGE BEFORE CALLING OR SENDING QUESTIONS BY E-MAIL
As explained in our FAQ section, we are not the original company, but a new company founded in 1985, six years after the original Heywood-Wakefield company went bankrupt. In 1991 we purchased the trademark and rights to Heywood-Wakefield, but by that time, the original company had been broken up and its assets sold at auction. We acquired only intellectual property rights; everything else was long-gone.
As a result of this, we have no archives pertaining to the original company, no materials with which to identify older pieces, nor any access to historical materials pertaining to the Heywood-Wakefield Company before 1991. Consequently, we ask your kind understanding and co-operation by NOT calling for any of the following reasons:
Everything that is currently available from us is shown on our web site, and many of the questions most commonly asked of us are addressed in our FAQ section. If you do not see the item you are looking for on our web site, it means that we do not manufacture it; and since we do not maintain regular communications with the many antiques dealers who buy and sell vintage Heywood-Wakefield, we would not be able to direct you to anyone who might have what you are looking for or be interested in purchasing your furniture.
A significant effort has been made in the creation of our FAQ Section to share what we do know about the earlier company, however we respectfully ask visitors to our web site to understand that our sole function today is the manufacture and sales of quality new furniture, built to the same standards as yesteryear. Focusing on this one area of endeavor helps us do the best job we can with our chosen task, and not incidentally, helps us to keep our prices as competitive as possible, but not expending time and effort on pursuits not related to our principal function.
Your co-operation is greatly appreciated.
